Individualized Services

Individualized Services is a versatile program that is designed by and for the individuals. When this service began it was at the request of 1 individual. This service presently has over 36 individuals and is increasing.  The services are based upon the individual’s needs, goals, hopes and dreams. Staff is hired by the individual or the agency based upon the individuals' choice. Each individual is included in the community with a 1-1 staff. The individuals served in this program have formed meaningful relationships and friendships with their staff. Many state their staff are more of a friend than staff. These services have begun to educate and accept individuals with disabilities with a greater understanding when in their community. There are a variety of experiences that the individuals have decided to participate in;

• Volunteer sites in their community
• Recreation activities from bowling, playing pool, shopping, swimming, fishing, etc.
• Socialization
• Friendship building
• Entrepreneurial opportunities
• Employment supports
• Concerts and shows
• Community activities (gym classes, weight management, dance classes arts and crafts)
• Adult education classes
• Arc dances
• Arc recreation programs

Services for these individuals can also include help in grocery shopping, cooking, laundry, cleaning, painting rooms, and any other areas that the individuals request.
